Salary Range: Up to 250K (depending the experience)

On behalf of one of our esteemed clients, a leader in Food & Beverages in Thailand, we are currently looking for a top talented Associate/Senior Vice President Research & Development to be based in Thailand.

About our client:

Our client is a leader in the Food & Beverages industry listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand. Manufacturing and distributing their products (UHT and pasteurized fruit juices, canned fruits, UHT and pasteurized milk, milk tablets and other beverage products both for domestic and international markets.

Our client also engages in Contract Manufacturing Business (CMG) in which they manufacture beverage products for other brand owners both domestically and internationally.

Role Summary:

The Associate/Senior Vice President R&D is responsible for creating and executing R&D strategies in both short term and long-term plan. Leading the R&D team to launch and execute New Product Development and New Packaging Development in time, initiating innovation pipeline, solving the technical issues, and enhancing R&D capability.

Job Description:

  • Set the R&D strategy which supports the company’s overall business strategy by identifying new concepts, innovation projects in liaison with others business units.
  • Plan a new product release strategy, including manpower management in the project. Ensure the release of products in time with cost effectiveness.
  • Plan annual budget, ensure the resource allocation effectiveness.
  • Feasibility study of new product launches which include its manufacturing process and preliminary costing of the new products including contract manufacturing products.
  • Analyze market data, competitors, investment in product development plan.
  • Seek opportunities for new products/tools or enrichment of existing products.
  • Monitor the food and consumer packaged goods industry closely, including food and flavor trends.
  • Work on special research and development projects or others, such as procurement and selection of outside project vendor, manage expenses for project operations and approve special projects.
  • Enhance current formulations, evaluating manufacturing instructions and current internal processes also recommending improvements.
  • Develop and set formulations including all manufacturing instructions and collaborating with food scientists who create internal product specifications for QC testing, label specifications and create applicable customer technical information for packages.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher in Food Technology, Food Science, Innovation Management or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years’ managerial experience, with at least 5 years’ experience as a leader in R&D in the food and beverage industry; fruit juice, cereal drinks, tea, coffee, dairy and canned fruit.
  • Experience of beverage products in various technologies; UHT, HPP, PET, Canning and Pasteurizing.
  • Knowledge of product development processes and prototype modeling methods.
  • Knowledge of international food laws, food labeling, importing and exporting regulations.
  • Excellent project and time management skills.
  • Solid knowledge of performance reporting and financial/budgeting processes.
  • Strong business acumen with a commercial mindset, result oriented, being strategic thinker, influencer and change manager, excellent analytical, problem-solving, and conflict management skills.
  • Proven ability to interact effectively with people at all levels and experience in a team-oriented environment is required.
  • Thai native with very good command of English and strong computer skills.
